Security guard training

Post by jackwilson on Sat Dec 13, 2014 7:02 am

Does all region, state and area require license to work as a security guard? If so, How to obtain a security license in that particular area? Does licensing needs to undergo any Security guard training? If so, what kind of training should undergo?

Click on the link that applies to the province that you live in to see exactly what you require to get your Security Guard Licence.

Security Guard Licencing Requirements for Alberta
Security Guard Licencing Requirements for British Columbia
Security Guard Licencing Requirements for Manitoba
Security Guard Licencing Requirements for Saskatchewan
Security Guard Licencing Requirements for Ontario
Security Guard Licencing Requirements for New Brunswick
Security Guard Licencing Requirements for Newfoundland and Labrador
Security Guard Licencing Requirements for Nova Scotia

Provinces such as Alberta, Saskaatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario require an accredited 40 hour security guard training certifcate in order to proceed with an application.

Handcuffing and baton training is also good to have.

That is great if you are gun shoot trainer. It is very important to determine the purpose of training and certification.

This is what I had to go through for my licence. It typically takes around 4 weeks.

For Yukon:
