Scope of Position
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Senior Manager, Security is responsible for providing direction to both in house security and contracted event security, pertaining to all WinSport day to day operations and events.
This position involves planning, organizing, coordinating and directing security team members in the performance of security functions, ensuring security procedures are executed and followed within required legislation and at the highest level of professionalism. This Manager will provide guidance and direction to both internal and external stakeholders of WinSport on proper protocol and process regarding security for park operations and will also be required to perform administrative functions.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Provide strong leadership and direction to all security team members by leading by example
- [size=15]Coordinate staff development including recruitment, hiring, training and performance management in collaboration with Human Resources[/size]
- [size=15]Provide coaching and mentoring to security team that promotes development and retention[/size]
- [size=15]Oversee and coordinate all contracted security services when requested for WinSport events[/size]
- [size=15]Develop and execute all required security protocol and procedures required for WinSport Operations.[/size]
- [size=15]Develop effective business relationships with both internal and extern stakeholders of WinSport.[/size]
- [size=15]Effectively collaborate with all relative parties while providing direction on security requirements ensuring a high level of professionalism is executed[/size]
- [size=15]Maintain knowledge on current best practices for security operations.[/size]
- [size=15]Develop and effectively manage the budget of the Security department inclusive of Special Events.[/size]
- [size=15]Perform Administrative functions including preparation of staff schedules, developing training and procedure manuals and approval of payroll.
[/size] - [size=15]Coordinate with RCMP and Calgary Police Service when incidences occur onsite.[/size]
- [size=15]Assist with the logical planning of special events in relation to Security.[/size]
- [size=15]Represent the Security Services Department at various meetings and functions.[/size]
- [size=15]Continue to improve on the WinSport loss prevention program for park assets and customer belongings.[/size]
- [size=15]Compile relevant statistics regarding accidents and incidents.[/size]
- [size=15]Demonstrate a safe work practice at all times by adhering to all WinSport safety policy and procedures and ensuring one’s own safety is preserved along with the safety of co-workers, direct reports and WinSport guests[/size]
- [size=15]Be mindful of all safety hazards/concerns within the work environment and ensure all safety issues are reported to the appropriate individuals[/size]

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Post-secondary education in Criminology, Law Enforcement or other related field of study
- [size=15]Minimum 5 years work experience in public safety or loss prevention for a large public venue[/size]
- [size=15]Strong written and verbal communication skills[/size]
- [size=15]Must demonstrate exceptional organizational skills[/size]
- [size=15]Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, coach and develop security team[/size]
- [size=15]Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with departments and park guests[/size]
- [size=15]Professional, positive and friendly attitude along with a high work ethic and initiative[/size]
- [size=15]Strong interpersonal skills[/size]
- [size=15]Class “5” driver’s license with clean drivers abstract[/size]
- [size=15]Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications[/size]
- [size=15]Class C CPR, First aid Certification & AED training[/size]
- [size=15]A Valid Security License[/size]
Working Conditions
- A portion of each workday will be spent outdoors for inspections, training, and supervision.
- [size=15]Physical tasks are significant part of this position, i.e. helping to correct a safety concern by putting up fencing.[/size]
